FUN FACTS ABOUT TIM AND LAURA
We have been (very happily) married for over 20 years and spent the majority of that time ministering on the mission field. From 2005-2020, we lived in the beautiful country of the Philippines, where Tim taught at the Bob Jones Memorial Bible College. In 2020, we were part of the mass migration of ousted missionaries who floated around the US waiting to get back to their countries of service. During that difficult, faith-stretching time, the Lord called us to be a part of our mission board's home office, helping to recruit and train missionaries for the field.
We love what we do! There's no greater calling in the world than to serve the Lord wherever He puts us.
But you probably want more juicy details about our lives.
So here's some fun facts:
- Tim didn't drink coffee until a long time after he married Laura. But she eventually converted him.
- Laura didn't know you could make your own homemade donuts and ice cream until she met Tim's family.
- Tim loves to read, study, preach, and teach. Helping people understand the Bible is probably his favorite thing.
- Laura prefers to communicate through writing, where you have an opportunity to edit yourself.
- Tim remembers details and numbers.
- Laura hates mathing and is grateful for Tim's fact-checking services.
- When it comes to references, Tim is better than a Strong's concordance.
- When it comes to references, Laura is like, "Well, I know it's halfway down the left column of the page, about the middle of the book, and I've underlined it in red."
- While in grad school, Tim tutored Laura in Hebrew.
- After marriage, Laura helped grade Tim's students' Greek tests. (But surprisingly never the Hebrew tests.)
Our CHILDREN
We have six wonderful children:
Susanna teaches school and writes thought-provoking poetry.
Tim Jr. prefers to sleep out under the stars and is currently working for the Ironwood Family of Camps through the Nehemiah Corps.
James is in college learning how to glorify God through music and thoroughly enjoys belting out songs in languages the family doesn't understand.
Andrew is in high school, working his way through Chemistry and some pretty deep theological books.
David and Daniel are in Jr. High and, although they are twins, they are as different as the day is long.
